About RAEIN-Africa

Our  mission is to promote systems and evidence-based approaches in the development of knowledge, technologies and innovations for food security and nutrition security, biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and wealth creation, and in relevant policies (at all levels) for African communities. RAEIN-Africa works to achieve food security, nutrition security, a sustainable environment and to eradicate poverty.

The Multi-Country Project to Strengthen Institutional Capacities on LMO Testing in Support of National Decision Making (MCP-ICLT) is a four-year, UNEP-GEF funded project led by RAEIN-Africa in collaboration with six partner countries; Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, and Mozambique. The project purpose is to contribute to ensuring an adequate level of protection in the field of safe transfer, handling, transport, and use of LMOs resulting from modern biotechnology 

THEMATIC FOCUS AREAS

RAEIN-Africa’s thematic focus areas are built on the African Union (AU) target “to eliminate hunger and food insecurity by 2025”. The AU Agenda 2063 aims at transforming Africa’s agriculture for achieving food and nutrition security to realize sustained economic growth, through the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) and the 2014 Malabo Declaration on Agriculture. RAEIN-Africa commits to supporting a long-term sustainable development trajectory that is economically, socially and environmentally sustainable.
